FAQ
Questions, answered.
CoBlack is an app that applies to jobs for you: it finds verified openings that fit your profile, writes a tailored resume for each, and submits them server side. Below are the things people ask before they start: how autonomous applying actually works, where the jobs come from, what happens to your data, and how to leave if you want to. Straight answers, no hedging.

Does CoBlack apply to jobs without my approval?
CoBlack applies autonomously, and that is the point: you set the boundaries once, in a campaign, and the engine works inside them. You choose the roles, the locations, and the salary floor. CoBlack finds matching openings, writes a tailored resume for each, and submits. Every application appears in your Job Applications table as it happens, with the exact resume that went out, and you can pause a campaign at any time.
What is a campaign?
A campaign is your standing search brief: the job titles you want, where you want them, and what they need to pay. Once it is running, CoBlack works it continuously, finding new matching openings and applying as they appear, so the search keeps moving while you live your life.
Where do the jobs come from?
Directly from employers' own hiring systems. Sourcing at the source is how CoBlack filters out the expired posts, duplicates, and ghost listings that fill job boards. When CoBlack applies, the opening was verified as live at the time.
Is my data sold?
No. Your resume, work history, and salary expectations stay sealed: never sold, never traded, never used to train someone else's models. The business model is subscriptions, not your data. The full detail is in the Privacy Policy.
Does every application use the same resume?
No. Auto Resume writes a fresh resume for every application, tailored to the specific opening, without you retyping a word. You can open the exact resume that was sent for any application in your Job Applications table.
What is Co-B?
Co-B is CoBlack's built-in career copilot. It greets you on first login, walks you through setting up your profile and your first campaign, spots the generic gaps in your profile, and nudges you toward the details you missed. It never sells you anything.
What does the free plan include?
The Point plan is free: eight tailored applications a month, no card required. Paid tiers raise the volume. They sit side by side on the pricing section.
How do I cancel?
Inside the app, under Settings: upgrade, switch, or cancel your plan without leaving the page or talking to anyone. Your account itself can be deactivated temporarily or deleted permanently whenever you choose; the Terms of Use spell out both.
How is CoBlack different from other auto apply tools?
Most tools automate the click. CoBlack automates the search: openings sourced from employer systems, a fit gate that skips jobs that would waste your time, a fresh resume per opening, and submission that runs server side while you are offline. The compare page puts CoBlack next to 23 other tools, scored in the open on the same four metrics.
Is there an app that applies to jobs for you?
Yes, CoBlack is exactly that: an app that applies to jobs for you autonomously. It finds verified openings that fit your profile, writes a tailored resume for each, answers screening questions truthfully, and submits server side. The full picture is on the Auto Apply page.
Do auto apply bots actually work?
The spray-and-pray kind mostly do not: one generic resume sent everywhere converts poorly. Auto apply works when quality survives the automation, which is why CoBlack applies only to verified openings that clear a fit bar, each with a resume written for that job. Members convert to interviews at 12 times the rate of a standard search (internal data, 2026).
What is an AI job search agent?
Software that runs your search in the background: discovering openings, scoring them, and preparing or submitting applications between your sessions. Auto Search is CoBlack's agent; it works around the clock without your browser being open.
What is a job match score?
A number measuring how well an opening fits your actual capabilities, across skills, tools, experience, market, and culture. Every score in CoBlack can be opened and read: which capabilities aligned and where the gaps are. More on the Auto Match page.
Will CoBlack apply to jobs I am not qualified for?
No. The fit gate skips any opening that falls below your fit bar, no matter how easy the application would be. Volume never replaces quality, and your name never lands on an application that wastes a recruiter's time.
Are the jobs CoBlack applies to real?
Yes. Openings are sourced directly from employers' hiring systems and verified career pages, and each was verified as live at the time it was found. That is how ghost listings, duplicates, and expired posts get filtered out before they cost you anything.
Does CoBlack work while my computer is off?
Yes. Everything runs on CoBlack's servers: the searching, the matching, the resume writing, and the applying. There is no extension to install and nothing that depends on your browser or laptop being on.
Do recruiters reply to me directly?
Yes. Applications carry your own contact details, so recruiter replies land in your own inbox. There is no proxy email between you and an interview invite.
Will the resumes pass ATS screening?
They are written for it: clean structure, standard sections, and formatting that parses correctly in applicant tracking systems. Each one is tailored to its specific opening, which is worth roughly a 52 percent lift in response rates. Details on the Auto Resume page.
Does CoBlack invent qualifications?
Never. Resumes and screening answers are drawn from your Career Capability Map, the validated record you built and can edit. If something is not true of you, it does not go out under your name.
What is a Career Capability Map?
The structured picture CoBlack builds of what you can do: skills, tools, experience depth, and preferences, extracted from your resume and sharpened with Co-B. Jobs are matched against it and resumes are written from it, so improving it improves everything downstream.
Can I pause or stop CoBlack at any time?
Yes. Pause any campaign and everything inside it stops. Your plan can be changed or cancelled in Settings without talking to anyone, and your account can be deactivated or deleted whenever you choose.
Is CoBlack free?
It starts free and stays useful free: the Point plan sends eight tailored applications a month with no card required, Co-B included. Paid plans raise the volume, to 200 applications on Vector at $19.99 and 400 on Matrix at $39.99, flat and predictable.
Where does my data live?
With CoBlack, in the United States, and nowhere else. CoBlack is a US company with US data residency that runs its own self-hosted AI models: your data is used to run your search, never sold, and never used to train shared models.
How fast does it start working?
Immediately: upload a resume, answer a few questions, define a target, and the engine starts searching. Your profile is matched at 165,000 jobs in about seven seconds, and applications begin as soon as verified openings clear your fit bar.
I run a career center or workforce program. Can we bring CoBlack to our people?
Yes. That is the partner program: universities, government and workforce agencies, accessibility organizations, and businesses offering TalentCare. Start at the partner page and write to us from there.
